Tubes which intersect have, up until now, predominantly been produced such that the tube casings are welded to one another at the point of intersection. As a result of the accumulation of material of the wide weld seam which is necessary in order to achieve the necessary strength of the weld connection, weld connections of this type have an unattractive appearance. The tube connection is configured such that it is distinguished by a high strength, a visually pleasing form and a simple and inexpensive production. The tube connection exhibits an annular intermediate piece 4 which rests, by means of its borders 5, 6, in a positively locking manner on the casing surfaces 7, 8 of the tubes 2, 3 which are to be connected, spaces said tubes apart and is soldered or welded to the tubes. The intermediate piece 4 is produced by means of a pressing tool, whose upper part and lower part each exhibit a cylindrical shaped piece, whose diameter corresponds to the external diameter of the tubes which are to be connected, the two shaped pieces being rotated with respect to one another through the angle of intersection of the two tubes which are to be connected. The tube connection is preferably provided for the production of tables and pieces of seating furniture. <IMAGE>
