PURPOSE:To easily restore the superior electrophotographic characteristics by treating the electrophotographic sensitive body having a resin protective layer on a selenium type inorganic photosensitive layer with a solvent to remove most of the protective layer and regenerating the photosensitive body by buffing. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is regenerated by treating its surface with a solvent, such as a mixture of methylene chloride and formic acid, or a mixture of methylene chloride, methanol, or ethyl cellosolve and hydrazine hydrate, selected in accordance with the resin constituting the protective layer, first by grinding the remaining resin protective layer with the coarse buff 7, and finally polishing the photosensitive layer to a grade of mirror finish by the fine finish buffing 10, thus permitting the resin protective layer to be easily removed, and the regenerated electrophotographic sensitive body to be not deteriorated in sensitivity and not to cause trouble, such as black streaks, at the time of forming an image. |
