<p>An editing apparatus provides a work station (personal computer, word processor, etc. other than the compilation device) with both a means for inputting element data such as texts available from the keyboard and a means for setting the key corresponding to the data. The work station of the editing apparatus may be furnished with a means for setting a special character discrimination code that designates a special character, a means for discriminating a special character discriminating code, and a special character conversion means for converting into a special character a predetermined element data that is input following the special character discrimination code. Therefore, this system allows an ordinary personal computer or word processor to handle special characters that are usually unavailable on such a terminal device alone. As for inputting the element data such as texts, the personal computers or the word processors are imparted with a function comparable with that of an editing device.</p> |
