PURPOSE:To evaluate quickly the abrasion resistant of a lubricant in a short time, by rotating a test piece under the prescribed load kept applied between the test piece and three steel balls and measuring the electric resitance between the test piece and the steel balls. CONSTITUTION:A test piece 6 is rotated by a vertical shaft 9 in a way as to maintain contact between a contact surface 6A and three steel balls 3 in a lubricant 7 under the load of prescribed magnitude kept applied between the test piece 6 and the balls 3 by a lifting base 1. The balls 3 rotate on a seat plate 2 with the rotation of the test piece 6 and the lubricating film of the lubricant 7 is formed between the test piece 6 and the balls 3 during said rotation. The electric resistace between the test piece 6 and the balls 3 is measured with an electric measuring circuit in this state. |
