<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an antiarrhythmic agent suppressing irritation formation abnormality occurring during ischemia almost without influencing contractive force of cardiac muscle, containing a specific carbostyril derivative. CONSTITUTION:An antiarrhythmic agent containing a compound shown by the formula [R<1> is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or phenylalkyl; R<2> and R<3> are H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, pyridyl or phenylalkyl or R<2> and R<3> together with bonded N form 5--9-membered saturated or unsaturated heterocyclic ring (further may contain N, O or S); A is alkylene; R<4> is H, alkyl, phenyl, alkoxy or halogen; bond of carbostyril skeleton at 3-position and 4-position is single bond or double bond] or a salt thereof such as 3-(1-6-butylamino-1-phenylmethyl)-8- methylcarbostyril as an active ingredient. A dose of the compound is preferably 0.1-10mg/kg weight/day.</p> |
