PURPOSE:To obtain a recording system matching with a user by providing a means for storing a program which controls an additional device, a means for deciding the kind of the additional device and a means for selecting the program. CONSTITUTION:The storage means 13 is stored with the program for controlling a recording device main body 12 and additional devices 11-1-11-N. The additional device deciding means 14 decides the kinds of the additional devices and the program selecting means 15 selects the program usable for the main body 12 by the deciding means 14. A control part 16 uses the program selected by the selecting means 15 and the control program of the recording device main body to control the device main body 12. The storage means 13 may be a read-only memory arranged in the device main body 12 or a portable storage medium. Thus, a desired additional device is attached to the recording device main body to complete the most suitable recording device for the user. |
