PURPOSE:To measure fine variation of earth magnetism even if an aircraft changes its direction by rotating a squid sensor so that one of detection direction among an X-axial, a Y-axial, and a Z-axial direction meets the direction of the earth magnetism at all times. CONSTITUTION:When the aircraft which mounts the squid magnetometer navigates while the direction of the earth magnetism does not match with the Z axis, the earth magnetism detected by a squid sensor 10 has finite values as its X-axial and Y-axial components and servo motors 32a and 32b rotate. Consequently, the squid sensor 10 rotates in such a direction that the direction of the earth magnetism meet the direction of the Z axis. Thus, a mechanism which supports the squid sensor 10 rotatably so that the direction of the earth magnetism meet the direction of the Z axis is controlled to detect fine variation in the intensity of the earth magnetism even if the navigating direction of the aircraft, etc., changes slowly.
|
