Tape is of nonwoven fabric with uniformly arranged perforation and is wrapped to enclose the seeds. The tape is pref. of rayon and the perforations are rectangular and at a density of 9/cm2. The fabric may be formed by pouring liq. material into a mould having grooves which extend in two directions and intersect each other. The tape is e.g. 20mm wide and is bent into V-shaped before dropping seeds into the V and then folding to final shape. The tape can then be wound with threads for reinforcement and to prevent displacement of the seeds. germination accelerator or fertiliser can be included in the tape.
