The invention concerns a drainage arrangement for wash basins, bidets, kitchen sinks, shower cubicles, bath tubs and similar collecting basins 1, which have an outlet pipe 2 that can be tightly connected to their outlet opening 1b and can be coupled to the odour-trap bend 11, and a valve housing 7 placed in the outlet pipe 2 that can be operated by a rod or similar device. Within the outlet pipe 2, a valve chuck 6a has been fitted which separates a riser channel 8a, connecting to the outlet pipe 2 above the valve chuck, from an overflow channel 8b which connects to the outlet pipe 2 below valve chuck 6a. Riser channel 8a and overflow channel 8b are placed outside and to the side of the collecting basin 1 proper, and are interconnected at a height above the highest filling level of the collecting basin 1. A wall 8c, which separates the two channels 8a and 8b, determines the maximum filling level in collecting basin 1. In order to prevent residual waste rising from the outlet pipe 2 to collecting basin 1, outlet pipe 2 is fitted, at its upper end, with a non-return valve 13. <IMAGE>
