The device comprises a scanner circuit having a number of switching circuits respectively connected to measuring points disposed at sorting channels. The switching circuits are operable to select one after another successive by a particular channel to be measured among the channels. The output signals measured at the respective points are compared with reference signals preset for the respective points. An alarm indicates the malfunctioning portion of the selected channel which is out of order upon receipt of the signals from the scanner and the comparator.
