PURPOSE:To smooth fluid lubrication and reduce the damage of a bearing by a method wherein radial rear surface grooves are provided on the opposite side of the surface of a thrust bearing so that the surface of the bearing is deflected upon recieving a thrust by a gas pressure from the rear surface of an oscillating scroll to form wedge-shaped oil film. CONSTITUTION:During operation, a part of heat is transferred to the thrust bearing 10 and the temperature thereof is increased, therefore, a thermal expansion is caused in the thrust bearing 10. However, the part provided with the rear surface radial grooves 10d is supplied with oil easily and is readily cooled, therefore, the thermal expansion will not be caused so much near the radial grooves 10d and, accordingly, recesses and protrusions are formed on the surface 10a of the bearing along the rear surface radial grooves 10d and a surface, slanted partially, is formed. The wedge-shaped oil film is formed between the slanted surface and the rear surface 2a of the oscillating scroll. As a result, a sliding part is readily brought into fluid lubricating condition achieved by the wedge- shaped oil film even if the excess thrust load is applied to the thrust bearing during the rotation of the oscillating scroll 2, and the damage of the bearing may be reduced. |
