发明名称 SEMICONDUCTOR LASER LIGHT AMPLIFIER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a semiconductor laser light amplifier which holds amplifying signal light output constant by separating signal light to be amplified into two polarized wave constituents of a TE wave and a TM wave and recomposing them by optically amplifying them respectively and independently. CONSTITUTION:Signal light of wave length of 1.55mum to be amplified is separated by a polarization separator 1 into a TE wave and a TM wave. The TE wave is guided by a semiconductor laser light amplifier 3 to be amplified, and the TM wave is guided by another semiconductor laser light amplifier 4 to be amplified. The amplified signal waves of both polarized wave constituents are synthesized by means of a polarized wave synthesizer 2 and outputted as amplified signal light. The loss in the separator 1 and the synthesizer 2 is as small as 0.6dB, and the other loss of the TE and the TM waves mainly consists of total loss in the amplifiers 3, 4. The loss factor C1 of the TE wave is 0.4 and the other loss factor C2 of the TM wave is 0.3 as the result. Therefore, semiconductor laser light amplifiers which keep amplified signal light output constant can be obtained.
