PURPOSE:To effectively use a memory with a limited storage capacity, such as an IC card, by storing information based on attribute information to decide the range of an information storage area and the attribute information to decide the data length of the information. CONSTITUTION:A first storing means 2-3A, which possesses the area to store the information exchanged between the area and external equipment corresponding to the type of the information, and a second storing means 2-3B, which stores the attribute information to decide the range of the area, are provided. Based on the attribute information stored in the second storing means 2-3B, a reading/writing means to read/write the information for the first storing means 2-3A, and a setting means to set the attribute information to be stored in the second storing means 2-3B in accordance with the attribute information indicated by the external equipment are provided. Based on the attribute information to decide the area 2-3A of the first storing means, the reading/writing of the information is executed for the first storing means 2-3A, and the attribute information is set by the setting means. Thus, according to a desire, an information quantity to be stored in the storage area of the first storing means 2-3A can be variably set. |
