PURPOSE:To attain smooth continuity of data at changeover of a reproducing track by taking correlation of both data read by a preceding head and a succeeding head at reproduction, calculating the time deviation and correcting the data time of the succeeding head by the calculated deviation time. CONSTITUTION:In the recording and reproducing system by the helical scanning system, the tail end of the read data of a preceding magnetic head 3a and the front edge of the read data of the succeeding magnetic head 3b in the reproducing operation are overlapped onto a magnetic tape 6. Then the correlation of data stored in the memories 8a, 8b is taken by a correlation meter 10a, the deviation time of both data is calculated and the data in the memory 8b, that is, the succeeding data is retarded and outputted by the deviation time. Thus, the switching without data deviation is attained at the switching of the output from the preceding to the succeeding data 2 to prevent occurrence of noise. |
