PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of recording and reproduction, by jointing integrally a main magnetic pole being positioned at the side plane of a main magnetic pole auxiliary core so that it can be sandwiched between an auxiliary magnetic pole core and the main magnetic pole auxiliary core. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole part 19 consisting of a magnetic material having high permeability and high saturation magnetic flux density is provided on one side of a main magnetic pole auxiliary core part consisting of the compound body of a nonmagnetic material 22 extending from the confronting plane of a magnetic recording medium to a required position and a magnetic material 20. And an end part confronting with the main magnetic pole part 19 is formed in a projecting shape, and the main magnetic pole part 19 of a magnetic head in which the auxiliary pole core 18 is jointed integrally by filling a nonmagnetic material 23 and the magnetic material of the auxiliary magnetic pole core 18 are positioned near the end part. Therefore, it is possible to reduce a distance between th main magnetic pole and the end part of the auxiliary magnetic pole, and to reduce the magnetic resistance of a closed magnetic path formed at the time of the recording and reproduction. In such a way, it is possible to improve the efficiency of the recording and reproduction of the magnetic head. |
