PURPOSE:To reduce the contact resistance between the outer terminals of a battery and the terminals of an appliance holder by forming a layer of Pd, Ag, W, Ir, Pt, or Au alone or an alloy of these metals on the exposed surfaces of the outer terminals of positive and negative electrodes of a sealed alkaline storage battery. CONSTITUTION:Pd, Ag, W, Ir, Pt, or Au alone or platinum-rhodium alloy or platinoid alloy is plated on the bottom of a metal case of a sealed alkaline storage battery and a positive terminal 3 thereof, or the clad of a metal selected from these metals and steel is used to form highly conductive metal layers 1b, 3b. The contact resistance between the outer terminals of a battery and the terminals of an appliance holder is reduced and the capacity of the battery is efficiently utilized. The contact connection is adopted for connection. |
