PURPOSE:To make it possible to continuously maintain high electrode activity by increasing the area of a cathode compared with that of an anode arranged on each side of an electrode plate retaining an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A cathode 2 and an anode 3 are arranged on each side of an electrolyte plate 1. The area of the cathode 2 is increased compared with that of the anode 3. The pore volume of the cathode 2 where electrode reaction rate is slow and wettability to an electrolyte is high can be increased without an unnecessary increase in thickness. The tolerance of the absolute volume of electrolyte absorbing amount from the electrolyte plate to the cathode is increased and the gas diffusion distance to an active site in the cathode is not increased because of thin thickness. Even if the amount of the electrolyte absorbed in the cathode is increased, the supply and exhaust of a reaction material are not obstructed, high electrode activity is continuously maintained, and steady output performance is maintained for a long time. |
