PURPOSE:To obtain a main spindle structure which can be adopted in a wide speed range by constituting the titled unit from a flywheel which can be shifted, keeping a gap from a main spindle, automatic center adjustment type coupling, driving member for the shift in the axial direction of the flywheel, and a control member for the driving member. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel 4 which is turnable and shiftable in the axial direction is freely inserted into a main spindle 3, and Curvic couplings 5A and 5B are fixed between the flywheel 4 and the main spindle 3, and the flywheel 4 is shifted in the axial direction by a hydraulic cylinder 10 and can be mounted and demounted onto the main spindle 3. With such constitution, the flywheel 4 is installed, keeping the superior balance, concentrically with the main spindle 3 by the Curvic couplings 5A and 5B in the low speed revolution, while in the high speed revolution, the flywheel 4 can be separated. Therefore, a main spindle structure which can be adopted in a wide speed range can be obtained. |
