PURPOSE:To improve the economy and reliability of checking on a magnet drive circuit by providing an element identification means which is connected to a block selection switching element and judges whether the element is acceptable or not based on its measured voltage, and a switching means to connect a power supply for identification. CONSTITUTION:To detect whether block selection switching elements 11, 12... are acceptable or not, a switching means 8 is turned OFF. Next, excitation coil drive elements 31, 32... are turned OFF based on selected data, and printing data is added to the block selection switching elements 11, 12... to change over the switching elements from 'OFF' to 'ON' position. When each block selection switching element is in a normal condition, a zero voltage is applied to an element identification means 9, when each element is turned OFF. When each element is turned ON, a voltage value obtained by dividing the voltage of a power supply 10 by resistors 51, 52 and an identification resistor 7 is added. If the selection switching element is defective, the voltage values in the case when the element is turned ON and OFF respectively are reversed, or different voltage values are indicated. At the same time, it is judged whether the excitation coil drive element is acceptable or not. |
