PURPOSE:To perform both negative picture and paint-out processes with no complicated division of each polygon by storing the additional data into a plane set at the highest position of a depth buffer in response to a hole polygon which is prescribed within an outer polygon. CONSTITUTION:In case a paint-out operation is required for the inside of a comparatively large polygon area and at the same time this polygon area includes a polygon where its inside paint-out is inhibited, the depth data corresponding to said inhibited polygon is stored in an area having the prescribed highest bits for the graphic data supplied from a host processor, etc. Therefore the comparatively large polygon area is masked by said inhibited polygon by storing the depth data into a depth buffer 4 together with the plane coordinate data corresponding to both polygon areas. |
