PURPOSE:To enable resolution to be varied to a host machine by providing a means to adjust the resolution in a scan direction to 1/N through loading of a single dot signal of write data in N pieces of memory in continuous form, a means to adjust resolution in a subscan direction to 1/N through the number of N times of printing to be performed once at an interval of a single line, and a means to change an N value. CONSTITUTION:The control part 31 of a printer 30 is connected to a host machine 34, and outputs a write clock to the host machine. Then the control part inputs write data and outputs a reference clock, write data, a load signal and a strobe signal to an LED array unit 33. A variable frequency divider 35 inputs a reference clock, then divides its frequency to 1/N, and outputs the frequency-divided block as a write clock. A variable frequency divider 36 divides the frequency of a line feed signal which is entered from a gate 39 and outputs the frequency-divided line feed signal as a load signal. A delay circuit 37 outputs the line feed signal to a timer 38 by delaying said signal slightly as compared to a signal from a latch circuit for the variable frequency divider 36 and the array unit 33. |
