<p>PURPOSE:To realize a packet transfer system with excellent throughput in a system of star configuration by sending a request signal to a multiplexer from a terminal equipment and sending a packet signal according to a commanded time slot location. CONSTITUTION:One frame consists of a plurality (n sets) of overheadparts OH1-OHn and a data part D and the overhead parts are used for control signal. Plural terminal equipments are connected to one multiplexer as a star and each terminal equipment gives a request (transmission request signal to a proper overhead OH. Even if requests come from plural terminal equipments simultaneously, the multiplexer processes them and assigns a different time slot. Thus, the transmission data (packet) from each terminal equipment has a different time slot and they are multiplexed simply by ORing the frame signals between each terminal equipment and the multiplexer.</p> |
