PURPOSE: To prolong the service life of a wear part by melting a surface layer in a range exposed to intense wear and consolidating the layer. CONSTITUTION: A laser beam 52 is guided along a wall Z51 of a through-hole by rotational motion of a wear part 50 around an opening axial line 54 or rotation of a laser source 55 and adjusting motion in a lateral direction (height adjustment). In this case, height adjustment is done by upward or downward motion after rotation of the wear part or rotation of the laser source. By this method, a surface layer in a range exposed to wear is melted by a laser beam and consolidated, its service life is prolonged.
