PURPOSE:To easily insert a catheter even in a branched blood vessel and to reduce the pain to a patient, by mounting a catheter main body and the ultra- elastic wire mounted in said catheter main body therealong. CONSTITUTION:An intravascular introducing catheter consists of a catheter main body 1 composed of a flexible synthetic resin, the hub 2 with a lure taper made of a synthetic resin fixed to the base end thereof and the ultra-elastic wire 3 made of an alloy fixed to the center part of the cavity of the hub 2 at one end thereof and extending through the inner passage 1a of the catheter main body 1 to end in the vicinity of the leading end opening part of the catheter main body at the leading end part thereof. The ultra-elastic wire 3 and the catheter main body 1 are coated, for example, with an urethane resin to attain surface modification and, further, the outer surfaces of both of them may be coated with a water-soluble polymer and wetted with water or an aqueous solution to provide lubricity. An X-ray impervious substance may be mixed in the coating resin of the catheter main body 1 and ultra-elastic wire 3 so as to more smoothly introduce the catheter main body 1 into a blood vessel by utilizing an X-ray imaging apparatus. |
