This invention relates to a means for positioning scrolls in assembling a scroll type compressor. The compressor has a pair of scrolls with spiral coils which forms a compression chamber by their interfitting. The interfitting process of both scrolls consist of a process to check the contacting degree of both wrap walls and a process to check the contacting direction. The data of the contacting degree and direction are entered a computing device and then the contact of the wrap walls is avoided by moving the fixed scroll towards X and Y directions. And then fixing process proceeded by insertion bolts the hole prepared.
