PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from being stolen without deteriorating the manipulatability of engine start by identifying an electronic code in association with the starting manipulation with the use of a mechanical key before the engine is started. CONSTITUTION:A key body is inserted into a key hole in a key switch 2a and then is turned. Then, a contact 9 is made into contact with the associated contact 10 before the key switch 2a is turned on, and a contact circuit 47 delivers a signal for confirming the above-mentioned contact to a trigger circuit 44. A CPU 46 delivers an inherent code signal, causing a light emitting element 8 to transmit an infrared code signal to the light receiving element 11. When this code signal 11 is delivered to a CPU 15 from the light receiving element 11 through a light receiving circuit 50, the CPU 51 identifies the code signal with the inherent code. And if no inherent code is identified, no signals for turning on relays 62, 64 are delivered to a relay control output power circuit 52, thereby an engine control device 60 and a starter motor can not be driven. |
