PURPOSE:To improve the starting performance and output by feeding the air which passes through the blower of a supercharger and is properly controlled into an outside combustor through the primary and secondary air bypass passages, in the constitution in which the outside combustor is installed in the downstream side edge part of an exhaust manifold. CONSTITUTION:In a Diesel engine equipped with a two-stage supercharger, the high and low pressure stage exhaust turbosuperchargers 20a and 20b are installed between an exhaust manifold 14 and a supercharge passage 16, and a primary air bypass passage 38 which introduces the downstream side air of the blower 26a of the high pressure stage turbosupercharger 20a to an auxiliary combustor 18 installed in the downstream side edge part of the exhaust manifold 16 is formed. Further, a high pressure stage supplied air cooler 14 is installed in an air feed manifold 12 connected to the downstream side of the blower 26a, and the first secondary air bypass passage 46 for supplying the secondary air into the auxiliary combustor 18 is connected to a passage 44 which forms an inlet to the cooler 14. Further, the second secondary air bypass passage 50 connected to a bypass passage 46 is connected to the air feed manifold 12. |
