PURPOSE: To enable an information card to automatically insert and pull out by providing arrays of recessed teeth near the connector of card proper to make racks, pinions mating with the racks at the side of socket to form a rack-and-pinion mechanism. CONSTITUTION: Attached on both sides of information card 11 equipped with a connector 12 have been racks 14 provided with arrays recessed from surface of the information card. Provision of this number of teeth being at least 5, though affected also by relation with pitch, increases stability in contact with socket pins, insertion into the socket and others. Annexed to the side of socket 13 has been pinion 15 that mates with the rack 14. The larger the pinion is, the higher its insertion stability becomes. However, since the socket size becomes too large, pitch diameter of 3 to 8 mm is adequate for the pinion. Socket pins 16 make contact with exterior. This gives possibility of automating the information card to insert and pull out, and can prevent poor contact due to slanting caused when the card is inserted. |
