The present invention relates to a device for applying a coated tape by passing it through a container 1 containing the coating substance. This device, which can be fitted to such a container 1, is constituted by a base 5, of substantially rectangular shape, capable of being fixed to the top of the said container 1 after removing the lid, this base 5 carrying, along one side of its upper face, a support 8 for a roll 10 of tape, with a passageway for inserting into the container 1 the tape 11 unwound from the roll, on its lower face, a guide member 13-14 for guiding the substantially parallel tape to the bottom 3 of the container and, parallel to its side opposite the support 8 for the roll 10, an exit slot 19 for the coated tape with, on the top of the base, a member 20 for applying the coated tape. The invention is applicable in particular to the application of paper tapes covered with a coating onto a joint between gypsum plasterboards. <IMAGE>
