PURPOSE:To improve an optical characteristic in an infrared-ray area, the surface intensity and the humidity resistance, by forming a diamond thin film or a carbon thin film containing a diamond structure, on the surface of an infrared-ray use transmission material. CONSTITUTION:A diamond thin film or a diamond-like carbon DLC thin film is formed, for instance, by bringing gas obtained by exciting carbon source gas, into contact with an infrared-ray use transmission material. This diamond thin film or DLC thin film being hard and excellent in a water-barrier property protects the infrared-ray use transmission material of the inside from a scratch and moisture, therefore, the surface intensity and the humidity resistance which are conventional defects can be improved remarkably. In such a way, the optical characteristic of the infrared-ray area is raised, and also, the surface intensity and the humidity can be raised. |
