PURPOSE:To increase a recording density without being limited by a demagnetization effect by providing an information recording layer consisting of a base and a high-temp. superconductive material formed on the base. CONSTITUTION:The information recording layer 10 consisting of the high-temp. superconductive material is formed on the base 1. Recording to the recording medium is executed by locally forming superconductive regions 12 and normal conductive regions 11 to the high-temp. superconductive material. For example, the local formation of the superconductive regions 12 and the normal conductive regions 11 is executed by changing the compsn. of YBa2Cu3O7-x. Namely, the quantity of oxygen increases to >=6.3 only in the part where an oxygen ion beam 14 is implanted if the oxygen ion beam 14 is stopped down and is locally implanted to the recording layer from an oxygen beam generator 13 according to information by an oxygen beam controller 15. The superconductive state is is attained at <=90K. The demagnetization effect by a diamagnetic field is eliminated and the recording density is increased.
