The invention relates to a locknut device which will particularly find its application in the field of mechanical safety fastening. The device 1 comprises a set of a nut 3 and a locknut 4, which nuts are tapped and intended to be screwed onto a threaded shaft 2. According to the invention the nut 3 and locknut 4 include mutual interaction means which develop a radial force which firmly applies the tappings of the nut 3 and locknut 4 against the screw thread of the shaft 2. These means are in the form of an off-centred bore made in the nut and of an off-centred collar fitted into the said bore and produced on the locknut 4. The invention relates to mechanics. <IMAGE>
