PURPOSE:To produce the title high-toughness and high-A ferritic hot-rolled band stainless steel by hot-rolling a steel slab having a specified composition and consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, S, Al, N, Ti, and Fe at a specified temp., and then water-quenching the steel. CONSTITUTION:A ferritic stainless steel slab contg. <=0.03% C, <=1.5% Si, <=0.5% Mn, 13-26% Cr, <=0.005% S, 3-7%, or preferably 3.5-7%, Al, <=0.03% N, and 0.05-0.4% Ti, wherein the excess [Ti] shown by the equation [Ti]=Ti-48/12C-18/14N is controlled to <=0.2%, further contg., as required, <=0.1% of one kind among REM, Ca, and Y, and contg. the balance Fe and inevitable impurities is heated at 1,150-1,300 deg.C, and hot-rolled. The hot rolling is carried out at the temp. of Tf fulfilling the inequality Tf>= 720+80(Al-3)+300[Ti]. The rolled sheet is wound, and then water-quenched. By this method, the hot-rolled band of Fe-Cr-Al steel having high contents of Ti and Al is obtained without significantly deteriorating the toughness. |
