The conventional stretchers have a high intrinsic weight due to their elaborate construction and, due to their large-area rectangular shape, cannot be used in many staircases or on the narrow stairs of small houses. Aluminium rectangular tubes were welded to form a carrying fork, provided with four fastenings (2+3) for a commercially available folding chair, with three eyes (5) for additional straps on the handles, with rubber protective caps at the ends of the carrying fork (1), with a cushioned shoulder protection (4) on the front carrying arm for transport on stairs and with a plug connection (6), so that the dismantled carrying fork fits into a suitcase. With its low intrinsic weight and due to its three-point grips (5) the carrying fork can be used on narrow stairs and can be carried with the hands free via additional straps. <IMAGE>
