A support material (washing oil or activated carbon) absorbing pollutants in an outgoing air purification apparatus is continuously regenerated in said plant in order to be used in closed circuit. The major portion of the pollutants absorbed by the support material is made to evaporate at low temperature in a vacuum evaporator (20) and is separated from the support material. The rest of the pollutants in the support material is also evaporated during a second step by means of a microwave apparatus (24) and reinjected into the vacuum evaporator (20) without perceptibly heating the support material. The essentially pure support material is recirculated, by means of a circulating pump (25), in the absorption column (1) of the purification apparatus. The exhaust vapour of the vacuum evaporator (20) is compressed against the atmosphere by a vacuum pump (29, 30), condensed in a pre-heater and a condenser (12) and then rejected, through a steam separator (31), as a liquid phase solvent (35) into a tank (36). |
