PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a magnetic disk by floating a magnetic disk from a magnetic disk surface with the outermost circumferential cylinder of a magnetic disk and recording and reproducing with an innermost circumferential cylinder while the magnetic head is brought into contact with a magnetic disk surface. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk 1 is rotated and driven in the direction of an arrow (a), a magnetic head 2 is supported by a gimbal type supporting device 3, driven and positioned in the direction of an arrow b1 or b2 on a rotation diameter O1 by a positioning device 4 and the magnetic recording and reproducing are executed in prescribed cylinders T1-Tn. At an outermost circumferential cylinder Tn of the magnetic disk 1, the magnetic head 2 is floated from a magnetic disk surface, at an innermost circumferential cylinder T1, the recording and reproducing are executed while the magnetic head 2 is brought into contact with the magnetic disk surface, and therefore, in the outer circumferential side where the damage when the magnetic head is brought into contact, becomes large, the contact of the magnetic disk 1 and the magnetic head 2 is hard to occur and the durability is improved. |
