PURPOSE:To decrease the number of components and to facilitate optical axis adjustment and assembly, by connecting an optical fiber to the 1st input/output part of a Y-branch optical waveguide which has three input/output parts and a light emitting element and a light receiving element to the 2nd and 3rd input/ output parts. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 5 is connected to the 1st input/output part of the rectangular prism optical waveguide 1 which has the three input/output parts, and the light emitting element 4 and light receiving element 4 are coupled optically with other two input/output parts. Projection light from the light emitting element 3 enters the optical fiber 5 through optical waveguide parts 2a and 2b and the light of the optical fiber 5, on the other hand, enters the light receiving element 4 through optical waveguide parts 2b and 2c. Consequently, the number of components is decreased and the light emitting and receiving elements 3 and 4 are connected directly to the Y-branch waveguide 1, so the optical axis adjustment is facilitated and the assembling operation becomes extremely easy. |
