PURPOSE:To reduce a load required for moving a head upward with a simple mechanism, by providing a pressurizing means pressing down the head against a platen, a pressure regulating means regulating the pressurizing means so that it cannot come into contact with a carriage in the range of the unprintable both ends, and a cam-form head up means. CONSTITUTION:All over the printable range in the full stroke of a movable carriage 10, a load lever center part 16a comes into contact with a roller 13 to transmit a load thereto. When the carriage 10 moves to unprintable end parts, the roller 13 is separated from the load lever center part 16a to come into contact with a cam part 15. Then, the roller 13 is pressed up along the cam part 15, whereby a head-up state is realized. At this time, a projection 16c of the load lever comes into contact with a lower chassis 1 of a body to keep a distance between the cam part 15 and load lever end parts 16b constant. Therefore, the roller 13 is prevented from abutting on the load lever end parts 16b, thus being free from the load. In this manner, a head can be moved upward with a remarkably small load. |
