Position transmitter

A description is given of a position transmitter which measures (detects) the position of an element generating an electric or magnetic field and which transmits an electric output signal indicating the position of the element. The position transmitter according to the invention is distinguished by the combination of the following features: - the position transmitter has a multiplicity of individual sensors, each of which assuming at least two electric states as a function of the presence or absence of the field to be measured, - each individual sensor or a group of sensors is connected, in accordance with a digital code indicating its position, to at least one output line.
