PURPOSE:To absorb the biting force of a foreign matter into a belt mold and to prevent the rupture of a belt by constituting the surface part of a cooling pad of under a fixing side plate by the surface member consisting of an elastic flexible material. CONSTITUTION:A belt mold 10 is guided by a guide roller 11, driven by interlocking with the drawing of a cast billet 12 and similar belt mold is installed in opposition to this belt mold. On the upperstream part of the belt mold 10, the fixed side plate closing the side face thereof is also set up in opposition, movable in the belt width direction and the width of the cast billet 12 can be changed. A cooling pad 14 is arranged on the back face of the belt mold 10 and its pad main body 14a is covered by a metal surface member 15. A cooling water plumbing hole is formed on this member 15 and the thin film of a cooling water is formed between the belt mold 10 and surface member 15. The pad main body 14a is composed by plural hollow bodies 17a, etc., and covered by the surface member 16 consisting of an elastic flexible material. The pressure by a foreign matter to the belt mold and fixed side plate is thus reduced and the service life thereof can be extended. |
