PURPOSE:To always maintain high sensitivity and to obtain durability without causing background staining by incorporating polyvinyl alcohol specified in saponification degree in an interlayer. CONSTITUTION:The interlayer contains as an essential component the high-purity polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of >=98% obtained by saponifying nonsaponified polyvinyl acetate contained in the polyvinyl alcohol on the market to >=98% saponification degree, and removing alkali metal acetate as impurities, preferably, to <=0.001wt.%, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to suppress deterioration of light decay sensitivity and rise of residual potential, to enhance sensitivity and durability without staining a background. |
