The collar is a single part with a flange on each end. One flange is rigid, pref. with a steel core, to support the pressure of liq. during filtration, and the other is flexible and elastic to allow introduction through the central hole and fastening of the membranes to the carrier by pressing. Pref. it is made in plastics material resistant to chemical attack.
