<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to read out also handwritten characters by searching strokes in a matrix, subtracting recognized strokes from the matrix and leaving a characteristic zone including a primitive shape. CONSTITUTION: Respective reference shapes or characters are separated from others and framed in a matrix with a prescribed shape, especially in a rectangular matrix, and in the matrix, a prescribed type primitive shape called as a 1st type primitive shape is searched. Features that the searching operation of strokes is executed in the matrix, the recognized strokes are subtracted from the matrix and a characteristic zone including a primitive shape is left are included as the features of the method. Consequently handwritten characters can also be read out.</p> |
