PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent magnetic characteristic by a method wherein a magnet alloy powder is pressed and molded while it is oriented in a magnetic field if more than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:In a composition of an Fe100-x-y-zRxByCoz magnet alloy, rare- earth elements of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Lu and Yb inclusive of Y are enumerated as an example of R; expressed in a weight percentage, x is 50-40%, y is 0.2-8% and z is 0-15%; in addition, at least 50% of R is composed of Nd. A magnet alloy powder of this composition is pressed and molded while it is oriented in a magnetic field of more than 10kOe, during this process, it can be molded by using either a transversely pushing press whose pressing direction is perpendicular to a direction of the magnetic field or a longitudinally pushing press whose pressing direction is parallel to the direction of the magnetic field. An Nd magnet powder displays the dependence of orientation on the magnetic field even with the transversely pushing press; if the magnetic field of more than 10kOe, preferably more than 15kOe, is impressed, the saturation magnetization of more than several % is enhanced. |
