PURPOSE:To enable the contents of a nonvolatile RAM to be easily set, by printing each setting item and the contents of setting, then positioning a pinting head to the position of a desired content of setting for each setting item, and moving the head to the next setting item. CONSTITUTION:Setting items 11 are printed in terms of item names, then the contents 12 of setting are printed in terms of ON and OFF, and a mark (*) 13 is printed below each of the symbols ON corresponding to the contents of the current setting. Next, a printing head 14 is positioned on the ON side or the OFF side of an item content 12 for an objective setting item 11 by an item content selection switch 4. In this condition, a setting item selection switch 3 is pressed to move the head 14 on the setting items 11, and each item of the setting items is set while confirming the content (set or unset) at the position of the head 14. Therefore, the contents of a nonvolatile RAM can be easily set while confirming the setting items and the contents of setting, even in the case of a dot-type printer not provided with a display device. |
