PURPOSE:To favorably maintain an image forming state by detecting a developer sticking state on the surface of a photosensitive body and altering the image forming conditions of the developer according to the detected result. CONSTITUTION:Forming the image is executed by turning off a blank lamp for a specified time in the midst of warming-up after turning on a power source and the developer is made to be sticked to the photosensitive belt 2 and an intermediate belt 8, then the sticking state of the developer is detected by a density sensor 13. When an error occurs between the detected value of the density sensor 13 and a set value A, a developing potential B stored in a memory area concerning the respective colors of the developer is increased or decreased so as to make an output from the density sensor 13 coincide with the set value A. In other words, a charger is driven so that the developing potential stored in the memory area can be realized at the time of copying process. Thus, the image forming state can be favorably maintained. |
