<p>The spreader has a pair of distribution plates (5,6) each with a depending peripheral rim (52) and a shield plate (81,82) extending at least part-way around each distributor. A pair of auxiliary blades (88,89,92,93) are mounted on the underside of each distributor plate and are positioned diametrically opposite each other to cooperate with the shield plates. The auxiliary blades project beyond the peripheries of the distributors by about 2mm and the outer edge (91) of each blade lies parallel to the shield plate. As the distributors rotate, the blades sweep the shield plates to eject the material at the sides of the spreader.</p> |
