PURPOSE: To obtain the subject false twist crimped yarn not causing deformation of crosssectional shape by false twisting, having improved resilience, firmness, dry and soft touch and light feeling, comprising a hollow part and an open part continuous in the direction of fiber axis, having a C-shaped crosssectional shape. CONSTITUTION: A conjugate yarn, for example, comprising a polyester of a C-shaped crosssectional shape as a sheath component A and a thermoplastic polymer having a higher alkali dissolution rate constant than the sheath component A as a core component B in which a part of the core component B is exposed to the surface of the yarn is subjected to false twisting and crimping process, then treated with preferably 0.1-30 wt.% aqueous solution of an alkali and the core component B is eluted to give the objective processed yarn comprising a hollow part and an open part continuous in the direction of fiber axis, having a C-shaped crosssectional shape in which an opening width W of an opening part O is smaller than the diameter of a hollow part H. |
