Apparatus and method for admixture blood warming

Rapid mechanical admixing of blood products at a storage temperature of 4 DEG C. with a saline solution in a temperature range of 50 DEG -70 DEG C. results in a mixture temperature sufficient to prevent hypothermia upon transfusion, which temperature rise per volume of the blood products is at a rate commensurate with the flow rate of transfusion equipment while not exceeding the temperature tolerance of the erythrocytes.
