PURPOSE:To stabilize the output of a fuel cell for a long time by making the mean diameter of pores on the side in contact with an anode of an electrolyte plate small and the mean diameter of pores on the side in contact with a cathode of the electrolyte plate large. CONSTITUTION:The mean diameter of pores 8YA existing on the side in contact with an anode 3 of an electrolyte plate are made small and the mean diameter of pores existing on the side in contact with a cathode 4 is made large. On the anode 3 side of the electrolyte plate, a molten salt is sufficiently retained and on its cathode 4 side, the molten salt is retained only in small pores of two kind pores, and the amount of the molten salt retained on its cathode 4 side is decreased as a whole. The molten salt in the pores 8YB is difficult to move and the three-phase interface within the cathode 4 is not decreased for a long time. The output performance of a fuel cell is therefore stabilized. |
